How to edit a photo with filters
- Open your photo in the editor above and select the Filters tab.
- Move the sliders for brightness, contrast, saturation and blur. The preview updates instantly.
- Or start from a preset — Black & white, Sepia, Vivid or Fade — and fine-tune it with the sliders.
- Apply the filters and download. Click Original to reset the sliders before applying.
What each adjustment does
- Brightness makes every pixel lighter or darker. Use small changes (90–115%) — large changes wash out highlights or crush shadows.
- Contrast increases the difference between light and dark areas. A little extra contrast (105–115%) makes flat, hazy photos look crisper.
- Saturation controls color intensity. 0% gives black and white; 120–140% makes colors vivid. Watch skin tones, which turn orange quickly.
- Blur softens the whole image. It is useful for backgrounds behind text on banners and slides.
- Sepia adds a warm brown tone reminiscent of old prints.
Quick recipes
| Problem | Try |
|---|---|
| Photo too dark (indoors, evening) | Brightness 115–125%, contrast 105% |
| Hazy or flat landscape | Contrast 115%, saturation 115% |
| Classic black-and-white portrait | Black & white preset, contrast 110–120% |
| Soft, vintage look | Fade preset, or sepia with contrast 90% |
| Background for text on a slide | Blur 6–10 px, brightness 80% |
Adjustments are applied to the full-resolution image, not just the preview, so your download keeps all the detail of the original. In browsers without canvas filter support, brightness, contrast, saturation and sepia are still available; only blur is disabled.
